The dome, at Bastian's lamp
A note from the bench
“Wind the key fully once a week through December and the spring stays supple for decades. Shake gently — the snow does the rest.”
— Bastian Wohlfahrt, who blew your dome
A painted village church, a horse-drawn sleigh and two fir trees under a 14 cm dome of mouth-blown glass. Wind the brass key underneath and the base plays your chosen tune for three minutes while the glitter drifts down over the roofs.

Why a church in the snow
The little church in the dome is the chapel above Lauscha, painted from memory: the green door, the onion spire, the sleigh that brought the post up the valley. Every Kirchdorf scene is set by Henrike with tweezers before Bastian seals the dome.
Each dome is filled, sealed and left for a week to prove it holds before it is boxed.
It is real glass, so we suggest a grown-up hands it over for the shake and puts it back. The base is weighted and hard to tip.
Yes — up to 30 characters around the rim for €9. Add the words in your order note before 25 November.
A small bubble can form after a cold journey. Send it back within two years and we top it up free of charge.
The movement is sealed into the base, so choose before we post it. Not sure? Stille Nacht is the one most families keep.
